Pat Martin Foothills Humane Society Expansion Plans For Arts Center Described At Rotary Mervin Oakes, president of the Board of the Tryon Fine Arts Center, told Monday's Rotary members of the plan to expand facilities at the Center. However, the total budget, $2,585,000, shows a major increase due to two grants, explained town manager Mat thew Dolge. "The General Fund Revenue looks even next year with this year, with the exception of a few reductions", Dolge said. Revenue reductions include lower interest earnings due to low rates, less funds from the Utilities Franchise Tax (the state took some of the money to match federal funds), and presently non-existent ABC revenues, he said. The General Fund budget of $803,683 reflects no new employees, no major changes and a five percent increase in employee salaries, Dolge pointed out. Capital outlay items to be considered during the public hearing are a new copier for administration, a new patrol car, $10,000 to computerize the police files and records and a drug dog for the Police Department, he reported.
