Polly Ashley, a senior at
Greeniboro's Bennett College
for Women, was among the
first?group of 'students to
participate in the College's
traditional degree program.
Interdisciplinary Studies.

entered the program during
its first year in 1971. The term
itself is not new in today's
colleges and universities, but

For Polly, the program
offered a change from the
traditional ^lecture-lab instruction
and organized class
schedules.
"My collegiate experience
has included integrative
- seminars, self-oriented projects,
community resource
contact and interaction, fieldwork
and externships," Polly
explained.

Chemistry. Her classroom
experience has been strengthened
by several employment-training
appointments
which Were arranged through
the Cooperative Education
Program at Bennett.
