After nearly eight months of
waiting, it appears as though
the Joseph Waddell People's
Free Ambulance service will
have to wait a few more days
to get underway.
The service was supposed to
start on Tuesday (September
28th), but could not do so
because they still had not
received authorization from
the county. The service has to
show the county that its
insurance is up to date, that
their ambulance and crews are
certified by the state, and that
there is a direct line of
communication with the county
ambulance service.
Nelson Malloy, a director of
the service, said in a
telephone conversation, that is
was simply a matter of sitting
down with county official&and
presenting the proper papers
showing that they are certified
by the state and that the
insurance is current. He said
he did not forsee any problems
and thought the service would
probably begin Thursday.
"Everything the county has
asked for has been compiled
with and now its just a matter
of letting them see it."
