Williams Auditorium buzzed with excitement the past Sunday as the "six feet tall" proud parents of the Winston-Salem State University Early Childhood Education Center sponsored its annual culmination activity for the second annual Little Mr. and Miss Ram Contest. The presentation, appropriately named 44A Day In A Child's Life" featured every ? n r* /-v *- r* 1 ** -4 ^ ^ imiig ihjiii cuuiaiiuiiaj cuucavors to vocational aspirations. The "pint-sized" leaders of tomorrow held an audience spellbound with renditions of dance, (tapping and creative) musical selections (singing and 'mime') and to really top it off a fashion show featuring everything from swim wear to sleep wear. : _ Pari I consisted of casual and sportswear and was narrated by Mrs. Laura Allen. Part II -- Church dress wear^ narrated by Mrs. Valerie Falls. The "swim wear" and "sleep wear" narrator was Mrs. Pat Smith ancj two tiny tots did a dazzling interpretive rendition of Boogib Fever! Newell, professor of math at the university, was the charming Mistress of Ceremonies. Mrs. Mary A. Duncan, of the UECEC staff, crowned Little 1 Mr. and Miss Ram after which Ms. Sandra Amos presented each contestant a certificate of recognition, compliments of ! the Aurora Glub of the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. - 1 _To really put the winners and runners up in the royal f n I o r> ^ ^ h - - I? 1 * 'pi^nuui wncrc iney De longedV Dr. Golden B. WalJ, Director of Student . Teachers at WSSU, presented Sessie Vickers (Little Ms. Ram) and Edrissa Carson (Little Mr. Ram) with trophies. First Tunners-up La Sonya Withers and Fernard Henry were -ptes fl4ed?pfctqrres and so were second runners up Jerri Jones and Malcolm Mack.The contest this year was given and each contestant vied for a month on a 1977 calendar. According to a*mounts, winners "ruled" each month.
