newly elected President said i

started in 1976 as a result of j
a swimming pool accident.
The accident sent a number
of children to the hospital. A |
tank near the pool leaked gas
causing many of the children
at the pool to become sick. I
The council was instrumental
in getting the city to
provide funds for improvements
to the center soon
after. Those improvements
included a boxing ring, a
new office, and general
