The following is a special
section of You And The Stars
which finds astrological ans
wers or possibilities for vari
ous significant points in the
history of Black America.
It is generally believed in
Astrology that the Black race
comes under the rulership of
the sign Pisces. Bondage is
one of the qualities identified
with Pisces. Since blacks
were at one time in bondage,
Pisces is considered to be the
black sign.
There are other factors to
consider in connection with
this theory that Pisces is the
sign of the black race. The
sign of Pisces is ruled by the
planet Neptune. When in
bad aspect, Neptune is be
lieved to relate to ehceit,
chaos and treachery. It is also
believed to relate to voyages
by water, ambushes, re
straints, privation and all
limitation of personal free
dom.
If the early astrologers
have done their job well and
these qualities are, as be
lieved to be, related to Pisces
and Neptune, then this is un
doubtedly why blacks are
thought to come under this
rulership. This assumes that
we are thinking in terms of
the beginning of black en
slavement; for certainly, all
of the aforementioned adver
sities were a part of enslave
ment.
Pisces is co-ruled by Jupi
ter, the planet related to Reli
giosity. This quality must
surely be identified with
blacks because religion, em
pathy and belief of basic
goodness in people are a part
of the black heritage. Many
early black leaders had reli
gious backgrounds.
They led under the most
adverse conditions. Leader
ship that is guided by strong
spiritual conviction and the
capacity to survive despite
adversity are both Jupiterian
aspects. These are also quali
ties that appear to be basic in
the chart of black destiny
before the Emancipation
Proclamation.
Since there was little re
corded history of blacks in
this country before the Dec
laration of Independence, we
have used the time of the sign
ing of the Declaration of In
dependence as our astrologi
cal point in time from which
to chart this period. Next
week, our astrological point
in time will be the Emancipa
tion Proclamation.
ARIES ~ March 21-April 19
You may be moody and
unpredictable now. Some
