April 9 at 7 p.m., in the
church sanctuary. The

the recital which will mark
the beginning of a threeweek
celebration of Shiloh's
86th anniversary.
Spillman, assistant professor
of music and chairman
of the Organ Department
at Louisiana State
University in Baton
Rouge, will give his recital
on a 40-voice pipe organ
that is augmented with
electronics, the first such
organ to be installed in the
^state.
Spillman's program will
include works by Olivier
Messiaen, Cesar Franck,
Johann S. Bach and Tho?
mats Kerr, a black composer.
Spillman has studied at
Dillard and Indiana universities
and holds a degree
as doctor of music in
organ performance from
Indiana University School
of Music. At Indiana University.
he served as assistant
to the director and
research associate at the
School of Music's Black
Music Center, and there
