Well, another area with which we are all familiar is complain- I ing. The art of consumer Wt complaining, says the Bet- Kn ter Business Bureau, war- I ~ j rants the addition of still another self-help program. an iiiterest and ability in solving consumer com- I plaints, the following tips _i a may save you lime ana money. The first step is to save all documents associated with the products you purchase. This includes sales receipts, repair records and I II ... Luiuiavia( as wcii as; vi warranties or guarantees, ^ ? model numbers^ and J serial codes, ? cancelled checks or proof of payment, ? copies of promotional I material, ? and any phone call information (time, date, person spoken with and facts given or received). Do not leave such records just lying around wherp they can easily get lost. Instead, put them in a special place for safekeep- I ing. I ing and inconvenient, get ting angry, particularly at this point, may lessen the company's ability and desire to reach settlements Next, write a brief letter I confirming any agreements or mformation received H over the telephone, being B sure to note the time and date of the conversation I and the name of the person with whom you spoke.
