Reba Westfield Jones
Mrs. Reba Westfield Jones of 1201 East 9th St., Apt.
8-L, Sunrise Towers \partment, expired on Sunday at
Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was a native of
Anderson County, S.C. and had lived in this city for the
past 38 years. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist
Church, and a member of the Sunrise Towers' Senior
Citizens' club. Surviving are: a brother, Mr. Houston
Westfield of 1500 East 7th St,, a sister-in-law; Mrs. Dora
Westfield. Funeral services for Mrs. Jones were
conducted Wednesday, July 18, at 5:00 p.m., at Mt.
Carmel Baptist Church with Dr. H. L. Moore officiating
and burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery. The
family received friends Tuesday evening from 7:30 until
8:00 p.m., at tfi<rHooper Funeal Home. (HOOPER)
Catherine Barksdale Smith
Mrs. Catherine Barksdale Smith of 2801 Urban St.,
expired Monday, July 16th, at the North Carolina Baptist
Hospital. She was a native of this city and a member of
the Apostolic Church of Christ. Surviving are: the

daughters, Mrs. Juanita Hines, Mrs. Ruth Smith, and
Mrs. Pamela Smith all of this city, five sons, Edward and

Smith and Antonio Smith of Winston-Salem, two
brothers, Johnny Barksdale of this city, Paul Barksdale
of New York, two sisters, lEvangelist Willie Mae
Littlejohn and Minister Thelma B.-Moore of this city.
The remains were removed to the Hooper Funeral Home
pending completioin of funeral and burial arrangements.

Bessie Mae Redfern
Mrs. Bessie Mae Redfern of 2514 Manchester St.,expired
Tuesday at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was
a native of Monore and a member of the Emmanuel
Baptist Church. Surviving are the husband, Mr. Baxter
Redfern of the home, a sister, Mrs. Mary Young and a
brother, Mr. Lee Hinson of the city. Funeral and burial
arrangements are; incomplete. The remains were
removed to the Hooper Funeral Home pending
completion of funeral and burial arrangements.
