Funeral services for Rev. John Thomas Joyce of 4949
Wilkes Drive were held on Tuesday, August 25, 1981 at
3:00 p.m. in Piney GroveBaptist Church with Rev. W.P.
Clark officiating. The remains did repose in Clark S.
Brown & Sons Funeral Home until 6:00 p.m. Monday.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Clark S.
Brown & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mr. Willard King Black of 5216 Larkspur Drive passed
at his home early on Monday morning. His remains were
removed to Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. He
was a native of Winston-Salem and attended the local
public schools. He was an employee of United States Post
Office and a Veteran of World War II. Mr. Black was of
the Holiness Faith.
His survivors are his wife, Mrs. Hazel Dillard Black of
the home; two daughters, Miss Latonya Black and Mrs.
Daphne Glenn, both of this city; three sons, Mr. Willard
B. Coker, Mr. Stephen D. Dillard and Mr. Dennis J.
Speight, all of this city; three sisters, Mrs. Marie A
Brown, Mrs. Savannah Black of this city and Mrs. Ollie
Hamlin of Washington, D.C.; one brother, Mr. Fernel
Black of this city; five grandchildren and several other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 26,
1981 at 3:30 p.m. in Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral

Mrs. Eliza Mclntire Dumas of 333 Massachusetta
Avenue, Boston, Mass. passed on Wednesday night at
10:30 p.m. in St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston. She was
a native of Rutherford, N.C. and has lived in Boston,
Mass. for 50 years.
She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Ola Mae Forte and
Mrs. Kathryn Mclntire, both of 430 25th Street, N.W.,
Mrs. Pearl Adams of Philadelphia, Mrs. Thelma Mitchell
