The week kicked off with a Gospel Singing at the Kenneth R. Williams \uditorium Sunday night. The choir of WSSU and that of Macedonia True Vine Pentecostal Holiness Church were the performers for the premier event. \1 o 11 das ' t h r o u g h Wednesday provided many opportunities for students to participate in the festivities. On Monday, a double feature, showcasing, "Corn Bread, Earl and Me," and "Cooley High," was sponsored, while a >plash party was held at the C.E. Gaines Complex pool on Tuesday evening. Tht Student Government Association, under the direction of president Michael Sutton, held a student assembly Wednesday, entertaining questions from the student body and reporting on the progress of the SGA this year. Wednesday was also designated as student appreciation day by the student government association. Tonight will be highlighted by the coronation of Miss WSSU, Zenobia Nelson, and her i court. Nelson is a senior nursing major, pursuing a minor in bbth biology and Flnglish. She is a 21-yearold Aquarian, hailing from Concord, N.C. Veronica Oates, 21, reigns as Miss Senior. A native of Winston-Salem, Oates is a nursing majot born under the sign ol Pisces. Miss Junior is Cynthia Hicks.
