This issue's Bachelorette of the Week is Carolyn
Hampton, a Capricorn who works in the
auditing department of the Housing Authority of
Winston-Salem. Hampton says her favorite people
are her father and brother and her hobbies
are Jogging, dancing and listening to music. Her

unknown fact about marijuana. "Marijuana stays in
your body 30 days," he says. "You never reach the
same euphoria, so you smoke more."
Lessons on drug abuse need to be given more attention,
Miller says. "1 don't think the schools do
enough to educate children about drugs," he says. "I
would suggest as early as the fourth or fifth grade to
educate kids about drues."

As a drug abuse counselor, Miller sees many people
who are dysfunctional because of drugs. "I teach
them how to deal with their frustrations," he says. "I
don't tell them what to do or how to do it."
What Miller does offer each person are alternatives
to coping with their problems. He also recognizes the
drug problem as bigger than those who misuse drugs.
Millef says that our society promotes drug abuse,
especially through television ads for coffee and drugs
for obese people, to cite two. * "
But his biggest concerns are his clients, 90 percent of
whom are narcotics users. The other 10 percent are
mostly marijuana users. * *
Ev<;n when he leaves his office, Miller's workday is
often not over. Many times, his friends seek his
-counsel.
"The job basically follows me everywhere I go," I
