Brooks of Detroit, Mich; six grandchildren, two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; a devoted friend, James Ziglar of the city and other relatives. Faneral services were held Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. S.E. Tyndall officiating and interment followed. in the Evergreen Cemetery. Forsyth Funeral Directors took charge of services. Mrs. Mattie Samuels Mrs. Mattie Samuels, 98 years old, of 3016 Myra Street, were held on Nov. 30 at 4 p.m. in Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles E. Gray offficiating. The remains did repose in the funeral home until 3 p.m. Wednesday at which time it was placed in state in the church until the funeraLhour. The family did assemble and leave from the home of grandaughter, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hall at 3:30 p.m. enroute to the church for the funeral. ?1? Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Clark S. He was a native of Newberry, S.C., the son of the late Henry and Maybell Sander Duckett, a member of the Second Calvary Baptist Church, the Usher Board, Sunday School Class No. One, Chairman Emeritus of the Trustee Board, a veteran of World War II, a retired employee of the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., and an organizer of the former Deep Sea Fishing Club. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Beola R. Duckett of the home; five sisters, Mrs. Ela Duckett of this city, Mrs. Viola Simpson, Mrs. Nancy Suber, Miss Helen Duckett, all of Pittsburg, Pa., and Miss Adeli Duckett of Newberry; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Lottie Duckett, Foster and Louise Duckett, James and _ Clara Duckett, Herbert and Betty Duckett, Roosevelt Duckett, all of this city, and Luther and Rosan Duckett qf Washington, D.Cw apd other relatives.. Central University. Surviving arc a son, Mark Galbreith; her mother, Mrs. Olivia Penn DeReef, both of the home, and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. at the Goler Metropolitan AME Church with the Rev. Jerry A. Quick officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery.
