Mrs. Eather Boyd Miller
Mrs. Eather Boyd Miller of 1229 N. Jackson Avenue,
died Saturday, June 2nd, at her residence. She was a
native of York. South Carolina and had lived in thk ritv
for the past forty-four years. Mrs. Miller was a member
of the United Progressive Baptist Church and its Nurses
Board and of the 11th St. Association. Surviving are her
mother, Mrs. Cora M. Boyd, of this city; one son, Ricardo
Renard Miller, of the home; one sister, Miss Helen
Boyd, of New York City; one brother, Carvin Boyd Sr.,
of Gastonia, N. C.; one grandchild, and other relatives.
Hooper Funeral Directors were in charge of services.
Mr. Willie F. Kenney
Funeral services for Mr. Willie F. Kenney of 740 N.
Patterson Avenue Apt. 17 were held on May 22, 1984 at

R v. S. F. Hairston, officiating. The remains did repose
in the Funeral Home until the funeral hour. Internment
was in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Agnes Chisholm, 11 South Warren Street, Dover,
N.J., will be held today at 3 p.m. from the Evergreen
Cemetery, where Rev. R. L. Anderson will officiate. The
body will repose at Gilmore's until the service hour. The
family may be contacted at the home Of the son, Mr.
William Chisholm, 5117 Butterfield Drive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Walker Robinson of
2614 Marble Street were conducted Monday, May 28th at
2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Hooper Funeral Home,
with Elder Joseph Lowery officiating. Internment
followed in the Evergreen Cemetery. Surviving are one
daughter, Miss Pamela Robinson, of the home; her
father, Mr. Clifton Walker, of Blufield, West Virginia;

Graveside services for Mr. Eric Leon Williams of 1402
E. 14th Street were conducted Wednesday, May 30th at
2:00 P.M. in the Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. F. A.
Leak officiating. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Shirley Ann
Ricketts, of Boston, -Mass; several cousins, and other
relatives.

Funeral Services for Mr. Samuel Roman, 1215 Raleigh
Road, Lexington, N.C., will be conducted Thursday at 4
p.m. from the Thompson's Chapel C.M.E. Church
where Rev. Irene Clodfelter will officiate with interment
in the Lexington City Cemetery. The body will repose at
Gilmore's until the funeral hour. The family will receive
friends this at Gilmore's in Lexington from 7 until 7:30
n.m.

Mr. Emamuel Edmond, 929 Mock Street, passed Sunday
at his home. He was an employee of R. J\Reynolds
Industries and is survived by; one grandson, Mr.

Mrs. Iola Foy Hairston, Bridgeport, Conn., passed in
that city Friday. She is survived by her husband, Mr.
Thurmond Hairston, of the home locally she is survived
by: one aunt, Mrs. Pearl Hairston Howard. Funeral services
will be conducted today at 11 a.m. from the Mt.
Airy Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Conn.

!Mrs. Rena Shuler Rhynes
M rs. Rena Shuler Rhynes, (better known to her friends
as Sugar Pie) of 1242 Free Street expired Friday, June 1,
1984 at N. C. Baptist Hospital.
She was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina and lived
here 54 years.
Survivors include; one daughter, Mrs. Mary R. Rucker
of the city, one son, Mr. James K. Rhynes of the city, five
sisters, Mrs. Martha Terry, Ms. Bernice Rhynes, Ms.
Ethel Rhynes, Mrs. Rosetta Carree all of the city, Mrs.
Earlene Brynant of Jersey City, New Jersey; three
brothers, Edward and John Rhynes both of the city, Jake
Rhynes of Charlotte, N.C., 13 grandchildren, a host of
neices, nephews, cousins other members of the family
and friends. Funeral Services were conducted Tuesday,
June 5, 1984 at Johnson's Home of Memory Chapel with
Rev. J. R. Bridges officiating. Burial in Evergreen
Cemetery.

Mr. William Howard Low ranee
Mr. William Howard Lowrance of 623 Ontario Street
died Tuesday, May 29th, before arriving at Forsyth
Memorial Hospital. He was a native of this city. Surviving
are a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Perry; one son, Dennis
Lowrance; one sister, Mrs. Sallie Wilson; three brothers,
Joseph Lowrance, of this city, Johnnie Lowrance, of
New York, and Donald Lowrance of Durham, N.C., and
other relatives. Funeral services were conducted Saturday,
June 2nd at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Hooper
Funeral Home, with Bishop Willy Davis, Jr. officiating.
Internment followed in the Piedmont Memorial Gardens.

Mr. William Parker
Mr. William Parker of 1408 E. 19th Street died
Wednesday, at his home. He was a native of Iredell
County, N.C. and lived in this city for the past sixty-one
years. Mr. Parker was a member of the First Calvary
Baptist Church and a former member of the choir. He

Club and the Old Fellow's Lodge. Mr. Parker was a
veteran of World War 1 and was a retired employee of the
Winston Salem School System. Surviving are his wife,
Mrs. Mollie Plowden Parker, of the home; two sons,
Charles Plowden and Mr. William Parker, Jr.; eight
grandchildren; two nieces, and other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 3rd at 1:00
P.M. at the First Calvary Baptist Church, with Dr. W. L.
Wilson officiating. Internment followed in the Evergreen
Cemetery.
