She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hoyl Morgan, who were pioneers in transportation for the city of Winston-Salem. She attended the public schools and graduated from Atkins High School. She pursued an advanced education at Winston-Salem State University. Mrs. Hobson received a Masters Degree in Elementary Education for the University of Connecticut at Stoors, Conn. She v married the late Demby C. Hobson, who was a retired school principal. Community organizations in which she held membership and was a contributing participant were: The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, the American Association of University Women, the Silhouettes, the United Presbyterian Women, the Carver Community Club, the Carver Democratic Precinct, the National Education Association, the Tawasi So&kli Club, the F.A.T.A Threatre Guild, and the Beautification Committee for the city, by the Mayor's appointment. Mrs. Hobson was a charter member of the Couples Social Club. She was a volunteer at Reynolds Health Center. She was a retired teacher from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School system and completed her teaching career at Walkertwon Elementary School. Mrs. Hobson was a concerned neighbor and a lover of people. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Thelma Morgan Hines and a devoted nephew, Charles H. Jones, IV, both of this city; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service was held on Thursday, August 2, 1984, at 4:00 p.m. at the Grace Presbyterian Church, with Rev. L.V. Lassiter officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery.
