The party will last from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. and sponsors are asking for a $2 donation. Local coverage of the telethon will feature several viewing par ties during the telecast. The Top Ladies of Distinction will host a “Super Viewing Party” at Stouffer’s Winston Plaza Hotel from 6 p.m. to mid night. Larry Leon Hamlin of the North Carolina Black Repertory Company will be master of ceremonies at the affair. The ad mission fee is a donation to the OX to speak at freedom event UNCF telethon. A viewing party will also be held at Jerry Watkins Cadillac on North Point Boulevard from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The Black Velvet Lounge will host a telethon benefit viewing party from 9 p.m. “until.” The sponsors are asking for a $2 donation as admission. Local radio stations will broad cast live remotes on the night of the telethon. Radio station WAIR will broadcast remotes from the telethon site at Stouffer’s, and WTHP radio will feature live remotes from the viewing party at the Black Velvet Lounge. The first team of emcees for the telethon will be Wayne Willard, Brenda Walker-Brown and Wendy Womble. The second group will be Rod Davis, Sallie Hayes and Gill McGregor.
