} V ! Cteola Foot ! The Along the Garden Path j Garden Club held its annual Christmas dinner Dec. IS in the Red Room at Winston-Salem State University. Guests gathered to help honor Creola Foote, the club's last surviving charter member. Club president Mrs. Ellsworth Banner presented the club's j history. In 1930 Mrs. Foote, Madie Hall Zuma and several other ladies organized the Along the Garden Path Club. Mrs. Foote and Mrs. Hall were als6 instrumental in organizing the North Carolina Federation of Garden Clubs. During the program Alderman Vivian Burke read a proclamation from the mayor's office, commending Mrs. Foote for her outstanding service in the community, city and state. Mrs. Foote also received an award People On The M Hopkins named The Wake Forest University Board of Trustees has elected Dr. Lawrence David Hopkins to a four-year term on the board. Hopkins, who has been appointed a member of the trustee athletics committee, began his term Jan.*l" He received a bachelor of science degree from the university's Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1977. He is a member pf the board of visitors of Wake Forest College and the graduate school. Hopkins also is a member of the Alumni Council, the President's Club and the Deacon Club.
