with sorority-sponsored teen-age
groups, Ebony Fashion Fair contestants
and teens in debutante
b*lls and cotillions," Mrs. Brandon
said last Tuesday while
surveying her office. "I've been
doing it for a long time, but
always for someone else. I decided
I wanted to do it and put more
emphasis on the things 1 thought
were important.*'
These things include- an emphasis
on jobs, exercise and skin
care as well as on fashion and
makeup, she said.
Total Allure is located in Suite
500 in Tobacco Square. Finishing
touches are still being added to
the office to prepare the business
for its grand opening from noon
to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 31.

black students received degrees in
the communications field last

"We are raising students to go
into the communications field,"
Ms. Brunson said, "and many of
them will not be hired."
Ms. Brunson said that black

Blacks in the media are expected

Brunson said.
Despite the obstacles that
blacks face in the media industry,
there are opportunities for

in cable television.
MWe live in a media-dominated
society,'* Ms. Branson said.
'The new technology is where
the jobs will be."
Blacks in the media should
