The Tigers managed to beat the 13-inch snowfall that fell on the Triad and arrived in time for the w game at Corbett Sports Center. But that didn't mean TSU was interested in finishing the game, especially after a handful of the 1*500 spectators engaged in a brawl with TSU players with 14:43 left in the game. Tennessee State Coach Larry Reid said a fan threw ice in his face and another pulled his ear in the first half, When Aggie center Claude Williams dunked on Trein aine Smith with 14:43 left, a rU/%?? ?* ? * aiiun wumruiiiauon ensuea oetween the two. However, that situation was resolved quickly by game officials Bill White and Howard Fellers. At the same time, the melee at the Tiger bench broke out7Cam: pus police restored order and asked Reid to take his team to the locker room for a few minutes to let matters cool down. Campus police then cleared the area behind the TSU bench. "There was no danger involved in finishing the game," said one campus police officer. "I didn't have any idea it wouldn't be? - resumed." But Reid already had decided not to return to the floor and the Aggies' 55-48 lead became a lastlaugh victory by the same score after White and Fellers gave the Tigers ample time to return to the floor. "I wasn't going to take anv chances of getting someone hurt by bringing them back," said Reid, whose team handed A&T one of its four losses last month in Nashville. "1 grabbed one of the fans in the fight and turned him completely around." Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Commissioner Ken Free said A&T would not be penalized because of the fans' actions. "After hearing a report from the official who worked the game," Free said, "I don't think anything was severe enough to WSSU 79. "We sent out a similar letter at the beginning of the school year, but another will follow because of what happened at the Tennessee State game," Free said. The Aggies ran their MEAC record to 4-1 and their overall mark to 10-3 with a 92-75 ^in over Bethune-Cookman tiwo nights later. It was an impressive victory for the Aggies, who had beaten the Wildcats in overtime two weeks ago. "We just ran into a buzz saw CIAA Men Southern Division Wv.
