In the only rout of the day, the Delaney Rudd-led Bears smoth ered the Burning Flames, 118-86. Rudd, who had 42 last week in an AAU charity game, attacked for 33 in the win Saturday. The Big Apple League runs each Saturday for the next several weeks, with games beginning at 10 a.m. at the Hanes Hosiery Recreation Center. Funderburk stressed that admission is free. "There is some pretty good basketball being played out here,” he said. "Most of these guys have a lot of organized ball under their belts. This is a great league." Though he has been trying, Funderburk has yet to obtain full sanctioning from the NCAA. "That would let us really take off," said Funderburk, who has been seeking the NCAA's blessing for the last two years. "That would let us get guys in here with remaining college eligi bility."
