Page B2 Winstoo-Salem Qironide Thursday, July 21,1988 Area Deaths and Funerals MR. THADDEUS WILSON Mr. Thaddeus Wilson, 37, of 3315 Carver School Road died Wednesday, July 13, at Baptist Hospital. He v/as a native of Winston-Salem and attended the local public schools. He was an employee of R.J. Reynolds Nabisco. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annette Morgan o', the home; four sons, Mr. Tazz Wilson of Burling ton, Mr. Eric Wilson, Mr. Kelvin Wilson, and Mr. Jason Wilson, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis and Ms. Dorothy Murray of the city; his maternal grandmother, Ms. Annie Wilson of Win- Ston-Salem; his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Ms. Olivia Morgan of the city; sev eral aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Services were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 16, at Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church, with the Reverend J. Alphonso Quick officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cementery. Clark S. Brown and Sons were in charge of the funeral arrangements. MR. JAMES ARMSTRONG, Jr. Mr. James Armstrong, Jr, of 1608 Rockford Street died Saturday morning at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Laurinburg and has lived in Winston-Salem for 33 years. He was an employee of Forsyth Memorial Hospital as a Nurse Assistant, and was a Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Gracie Arm strong of the home; four daughters, Ms. Mary Arm strong of Laurinburg, Ms. Gwendolyn Bonner, Ms. Marlyin Brown, and Ms. Paula Bonner all of Win ston-Salem; one son, Mr. Michael Bonner of Walker- town, a daughter-in-law, Ms. Gloria Bonner of Walk- ertown; three sisters, Ms. Lou Bertha Buie of Durham, Ms. Mae Armstrong and Ms. Roseanna Harrington both of Laurinburg, three brothers, Mr. Harry Armstrong, Mr. Roosevelt Armstrong and Mr. Curtis Armstrong, all of Laurinburg; 10 grandchildren; six sisters-in-Iaw, one brother-in-law, several nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives. Graveside services were held at Evergreen : Cemetery, with the Reverend B.F. Daniels officiating and the Reverend Larry A. Boyd assisting. Burial fol lowed at Evergreen Cemetery. Clark S. Brown and Sons was in charge of the funeral arrangements. SGT. BARBARA ANN MILLER Sgt. E5 Miller, died Sunday, July 17, at the VA Hospital in Durham. A native of Winston-Salem, she served 10 years in the United States Army, and was a long standing member of the Spiritual Choir. She was a 1971 graduate of Parkland High School. She was survived by her four sisters Ms. Lyndia L. Barber, and Ms. Carol L. Miller both of the city; Ms. Marlene V. Miller, of Atlanta, Georgia; Ms. Princes M. Dockery of Tappahanock, of Virginia; five brothers, Mr. Curtis "Stonewall’' Campbell of the city; Mr. William Henry, Mr. Wylie Lee, and Mr. James Alec of Norfolk, Virginia; and Mr. John Thomas Arnold of Virginia Beach, Va.; two aunts with whom she lived with, Mrs. Georgia Ivey and Mrs. Viola Springs Joyner both of the city, and Ms. Camille Barber of Georgetown, SC; a devoted niece Ms. Tomasue Crockett of the city; and many other nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m., Fri day, July 22nd, at Hooper Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend E.L. Clark, Sr. officiating. Burial will be followed at Military Rites , in Evergreen Cemetery. Hooper Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements. MRS. AGNES JOSEPHINE MERRITT Mrs. Agnes Josephine Merritt, 76, of 3136 Green Cross Road died Saturday, July 16, at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovia Witness. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Calhoun of Buffalo, N.Y.; a son, Mr. Charlie M. Crimmon; two sisters and eight grandchildren, and many other relatives. Burial services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednes day, July 20, at Evergreen Cemetery. MR. WILLIAM SHEPARD Mr. William Shepard, of Hampton Virginia died Saturday, July 16, at Hampton General Hospital. Mr. Hampton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucy Long Shepard of the home, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23. Hooper Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements. MRS. ETTA C. GLENN Mrs. Etta C. Glenn, of 2309 Oakalina Avenue, died July 17, at N. C. Baptist Hospital. Mrs Etta C. Glenn was a native of East Bend, N.C., and a mem ber of the New Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Mary G. Kirkland, of the city: three sisters, Mrs. Jammie Mor rison of the city; Mrs. Della Spease, of Tobaccoville, N.C.; Mrs. Vinie Revels of Charleston, West Vir ginia; two brothers, Mr. Leroy Campbell of the city; Mr. Mahue Glenn of Tobaccoville, N.C.; three grand children; one great grandchild; one aunt; and other relatives and friends. Gilmore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. MISS KAREN CALDWELL Miss Karen Caldwell, of 2631*Pendleton Court, Apartment 5, died Tuesday July 12, at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. She was a native of Winston-Salem, and attended the local public schools. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. She is survived by her two sons, Mr. Joseph F. Caldwell and Mr. Tyrone Chisolm, both of the city; her mother, Mrs. Christine Caldwell Davis and her step-father, Mr. Marvin C.
