Christmas project leads to year-long commitment for Alpha Kappa Alphas Each year Phi Omega Chapter . of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. provides Christmas cheer for the residents of Turner's Rest Home and Bobbin's Family Care Home through gift-giving and social activ ? ities. * However, the chapter and the residents were so uplifted by their sharing this past season that the local AKAs decided to commit themselves to the Adopt- A- Senior ?; program so that the sharing can continue year round. The commitment involves vis iting the residents regularly to read, ; lend a smile or helping hand and remembering special occasions such as birthdays that often go uiytoticed. Other chapter members have also targeted senior citizens who live independently who could bene fit from a similar kind of helping hand and cheer. Additionally, 25 blankets were donated to Crisis Control Ministries to top off the sharing of Christmas '88.
