First Baptist Scouts advance in the ranks Pick 868 of First Baptist Church held its mid-year advancement cere mony April 6. The following scouts were advanced to Bobcat rank: Jonathan Wilson, Anthony Wright, Miguel Powell, Albert Morgan, Carlos Rawl inson, Cory Rawlinson, Ray shawn Brown, Thomas Wolfe, Gilbert Pow ell and Jay Carlton. Bobcat is the first step on the cub scout trail. Another group of scouts . advanced to Wolf. They were: Dou glas Mauney, Michael Dubose, Geofrey Hill, Carlton Fairley, Aaron Sally, Johnathan Allen. Rashard Cash, i Scouting In Forsyth County by Carlton Crump District Executive Kegan Hagans, J.J. Transou and Aerie Adams. Scouts advancing to bear rank were Ron Vaighans, Santana Acker, Thomas Wright and Gerald Clements. Also, the new Webelos scouts were awarded. They were: Jasper Brown, Benito Powell, Sherron Bradley and Christopher Stukes. Douglas Brown and Brannon McCullough advanced to boy scout ing with scoutmaster Robert Alston. In the same ceremony, Mrs. Clements was elected chairwoman Qf the pack committee. She also serves as activity coordinator. Mrs .Clements was named Den Leader of the Year for Pack 868 in 1988. Vickie Rhynes was elected to serve as chairwoman of the Christmas Party Committee. Shederick Adams is the cubmas ter for pack 868 and has done an excellent job in motivating and recruiting parents to make the pro gram successful. Mr. Adams proves that quality scouting, with parents helping out* can be achieved.
