Tecora Haney wins Sethos crown
Tecora Haney recently was
crowned queen of Sethos Court
105. She was crowned during the
Queen's Ball held Jdne 10 at the
convention center.
Mrs. Haney was escorted by
her husband, Noble Woodrow
Haney Sr.
Several of her relatives and
friends attended the formal affair.
Among them were Mrs. Haney's
niece, Marion Adams of New
York, and her children and their
spouses, Mr. and Mrs. Zannie
Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow
Haney Jr., Mr and Mrs. Lonnie
Manns and Linda Moore.
Mrs. Haney won the title by
placing first among four contes
tants in a fund-raising campaign.

Charles and Irma Gadson participated in the Mid
Atlantic Sectional Bridge Tournament during the
weekend of June 30 to July 3 in Richmond, Va. Mr.

meet Tuesday, July 4. The group did resume play
Tuesday, July 11, at the Winston Lake Family YMCA.

pets to visit residents in nursing homes.
SPEAKER'S BUREAU-- After attending our
training program and working as a volunteer for the
agency for six months, volunteers are eligible to serve as
speakers. These volunteers must attend a speakers' work
shop and orientation session, and accompany current
speakers prior to speaking to a group.
RECREATIONAL CHAPERONES - We need
volunteers to accompany and/or provide transportation
for shelter residents and their children to recreational
activities. These events may be planned by shelter staff
or you can create an event of your own.
THERAPEUTIC CHILD CARE - Under the direc
tion of a shelter staff member, volunteers are needed to pro
vide therapeutic child care for children of shelter residents
or children of support/therapy group participants.
