correction
In last week's article, "Was
Smith Fired?" the new board was
credited with actions of the former
board in two sentences. Delores
Smith was incorrectly quoted in
one statement about the new
board. Her correct quote is: "I was
put on administrative, leave eight
months ago by the old board." The
other statement regarding the
board should have read: "The old
board put Smith on administrative
leave through December 7, 1990."
We regret any misunderstand
ing these errors may have caused.

Gone are the days when one
felt as if one were living on the
outskirts of the flat earth. Now we
are actually going to be able to
hear world developments as they
happen. We are joining the rest of
the modern American world ?
everybody I
All of which should be good
news for those folks Who are try
ing to lure business to the Triad. If
I were Martha Woods, James
Grace/ Rick Weddle, Allen Joines,
Mazie Holten, Jackie Brockman,
Gayle Anderson, Fred Norden
holtz, and anybody else struggling
to bring business to the Triad, I'd
be plenty right happy about now.
Perhaps now, people will not only
want to move here, but they will
come and stay.
Imagine guys, you can tell
them that they don't have to give
up electricity and indoor plumbing
to live in our community. They can
enjoy our arts and entertainment,
and everything else we have and
STILL be a part of the rest of the
modern world! This is a great day
every bodeeeel
Perhaps the Cold War IS
over? Could it be that the Berlin
Wall has truly fallen here too? Are
we emerging from the "great
sleep?" Apparently, we too will
now escape this great sense of
isolation and deprivation.
And just so you know that I
haven't really lost my complete
mind, yes, I know that there prob
ably still won't be any AM station
in the Triad that will carry the
major league baseball playoffs.
Bui at least we can now find out
who's winning every half hourl
This is a great day for information
freaks! *
The addition of CNN should
really help all of the other AM
radio stations in the area to be
even more competitive in the mar
kets they serve ? all working
together to make this community
just & little bit more diverse.
CNN is not the complete
answer, but it sure ought to help!
