IPL to hold 40th Annual Debutante Cotillion M A Celebration of New Dreams" is this year's theme for the 40th Annual Debutante Cotillion which is once again being presented by the Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., Beta Alpha Chapter. The Debutante Cotillion will be held on Sat urday, April 1 1 at 8 p.m. in the Benton Convention Center. TWelve young ladies of distinction will be presented to the community. Cherie Aldrich is a junidr at Carver High School. She is the daughter of Marvette and Bobby Aldrich. Cherie will be escorted by Bradley Ceasar. Traci Bradley is also a junior at Carver High School. She is the daugh ' ter of Barbara and Roben Bailey. Tfcacie will be escorted by William West. Kia Boston is a senior at Carver High School. She is the daughter of Portia and Ron Ellerbe. Kia will be escorted by Khari Thompson. Montrice Brown is also a senior at Carver High School. She is the daugh ter of Mos6 and Robert Brown Jr. Mon trice will be escorted by C.W. Johnson. Genene Chaskley is a senior at Ml Chtrlt Aldrtch - and artistic director of the company, is also know nationally and international ly for his work as producer and artistic director of the National Black Theatre Festival and is serving as director of the Cotillion. Broadway veteran chore ographer and acuess, Mabel Robinson is the choreographer for the Cotillion Traci Bailey set the results caused by the Depres sion. The organization was established to add prestige to the field of business and unite women who had chosen busi ness as a career. As a national business and professional sorority, the aims are to make worthwhile contributions to the socio-economic patterns of the ? ? i Kla Boston lion and return proceeds from the Cotil lion to the community for charitable endeavors. ? The debutantes receive financial support for continuing education. She is the daughter of Milli cient Willis. Matokie will be escorted by March Robinson. This year's Cotillion promises to ? be the most exciting ever. Members of ' the North Carolina Black Repertory , Company are working with the Cotil ? lion. Larry Leon Hamlin, executive and Robin Littlejohn, veteran dancer and performer with the North Carolina Black Repertory Company is the assis tant choreographer. Nigel Alston will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Enter tainment will be provided by die New Day Singers. Kay Norman of Salis bury is the Cotillion musician.
