Johnson has appeared on national television programs such as Caroline's Comedy Hour and Arts & Entertainment Television's Comedy on the Road , Showtime's Comedy Club Network , Comedy Central's Short Attention Span Theater , and his own Showtime Comic of the Month special. At ceremonies in Durham, Pro fessor Steven Vogel of the Duke University Zoology Department delivered the commencement address. Vogel described the ways in which the quantitative thinking that characterizes science will be crucial if we are to deal effectively with our social and environmental problems. He argued that the kinds of crises likely to afflict us will make a healthy scientific establish ment as important in the future as any military establishment has been in the past.
