BOSTON Mrs. Shirlene Hicks Boston of Winston-Salem died Satur day, October 10, at North Carolina Baptist Hospital She was a 1965 graduate of Carver High School and attended Livingstone College in Salisbury. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Queen Elizabeth Club Youth Department, the S.B.C. Gospel Choir and Missionary Group #1. She was a member of the Middlefork Community Club and the Hicks Family Reunion Club. Mrs. Hicks is survived by her parents, Gertrude Hicks and Frank P. Hicks; one sister, Natalie Hicks McQueen of Win ston -Salem; two brothers, Frank P. (Gloria) Hicks Jr. of Char lotte and Gabriel Duncan ofLWashinfl^on, D.C,; her grand mother, Ann Davis of Chicago, 111.; five aunts, Geneva Davis and Lurline Tyson, both of Winston-Salem; Mattie Smalls and Betty Hughes, both of Winston-Salem, and Lille Mae Bacote of Darlington, S.C.; two nieces, Lauren Payne and Dollie McQueen; three nephews, Trevor Hicks, Sutton Hicks, and Van McQueen Jr., all of Winston-Salem; plus many other rel atives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 15, at 4 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul Lowe offici ating. The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes before the service. The family may be contacted at the home. Burial will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The ser- . vice will be conducted by Gilmore Funeral Directors. DANIELS Mr. Dorcy Daniels of Winston-Salem died Monday, ; October 5, 1992 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. He was ;born July 22, 1916 to the late Eugenia Benjamin Daniels and the late Aaron Daniels of Florence, S.C. He had lied in Winston-Salem for the past 23 years. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Sunday School Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Benjamin D^iels. He is survived by six daughters, Shirley Bailey of Piscat away, NJ., Virginia Williams of Creedmoor, Pansy Hurst of Atlanta, Ga., and Pearlie Coleman, Clementine Fields, and Vivian Daniels, all of Winston-Salem; three sons, Rev. Howard (Dorothy) Daniels and Freddie Daniels of Winston Salem, and Edward Daniels of Clemmons; a sister, Cleo Davis of Baltimore, Md.; six grandchildren, Iris and Tammy Cole man, Justin and Joselyn Bailey, Tonya and Angell Davis; a . devoted son-irt-lawfJlithur of Wimuw-Salem: a*" dear friend, Rebecca Ferguson of Winston-Salem; plus many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, October 9, at 3:30 p.m. at Savannah Grove Baptist Church in Florence, S.C., with the Rev. Ralph Canty officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens. HOWELL Mr. Nathaniel Aaron Howell of Chiquapin, N.C., died Sunday, October 1 1 at Davie County Hospital. He was a native of Davie County. Mr. Howell was a retired farmer. He was a member of Chiquapin Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter Shirley Blaekwell of Win ston-Salem; his stepdaughter, Frances Canter of Winston Salem; a devoted uncle, Charlie (Doc) Howell of Mocksville; plus many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, at 4 p.m. at Chiquapin Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Services will be conducted by Gilmore Funeral Directors. MAY Ms. Alma May of Winston-Salem died Saturday, October 10, 1992 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. She was bom November 13, 1952 to Leona Wilds May and the late Leroy May of Forsyth County. She was a native of Winston-Salem and a member of Macedonia True Vine Pentecostal Holiness Church of God Inc. She was a graduate of RJ. Reynolds High School, Class of 1972. She is survived by a daughter, Monica May; a son, Jer maine May Jr., both of Winston- Salem; her mother, Leona May of Winston-Salem; six sisters, Teresa McCoy of Darling ton, S.C., and Ruby Williamson, Beatrice Williamson, Pauline May, Beverly Watkins, and Cynthia May, all of Winston Salem; seven brothers, John Henry May Sr., Leroy May Jr., James May, Howard May, Terry May, Willie May, and Ricky May, all of Winston-Salem; a devoted aunt, Cora Mae Jackson of Winston-Salem; plus many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 14, at 4 p.m. in Tanner's Chapel of the Macedonia True Vine Pente costal Holiness Church of God Inc., with Bishop S.D. Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery, MILLS Mrs. Louise Bell Mills of Winston-Salem died Saturday, October 3, 1992 at her home. She was born November 21, 1920 to the late Hattie Edwards and Fred Reynolds. She was a native of Honeypath, S.C., and had lived in Winston-Salem for the past 60 years. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church and a retired employee of Smith Dry Cleaners and Parrish Dry Cleaners, where she worked as a presser. She is survived by a daughter. Crystal R. Austin of the home; two grandsons, Clayton Reynolds and Brandon Austin, both of the home; plus many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 10, at 1 p.m. at Galilee Baptist Church, with Dr. Warnie C. Hay offici ating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetefy. SMITH Mrs. Nettie Mae Smith of Winston-Salem died Tuesday, September 29, 1992 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was born April 12, 1912 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Robinson of Anderson, Va. She had lived in Winston-Salem for over 50 years. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a teacher for the Young Adult Sunday School class, a member of the Effort Club, and the Missionary Circle #5. She was a retired employee of Davis Department Store, where ~ decades. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Meridian Chapter #308, Prince Hall Affiliate, where she served as past worthy matron for over 15 years and was a member of the Order of the Golden Circle, King Solomons Assembly, #64. She is survived by her [_ husband, Prentis I. She was a retired employee of Heritage Cleaners and had worked many years at Camel City Cleaners. She was a member of White Rock Baptist Church. She is survived by five daughters, Janice Graham of Charlotte, Frankie Brown of Rocky Mount, and Joyce Strange, Terri Strange Smith, and Phyllis Strange Thomas, all of Win ston-Salem; one sister, Betty J. Johnson; one brother, James W. Johnson; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a very special friend, James Bunch; plus many other relatives and friends. TOMLIN Ms. Janice Antonette Reich Tomlin of Winston-Salem died Saturday, October 10, 1992 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. She was bom February 16, 1951 to the late Evelyn Reich and Sylvester Lowery of Winston-Salem. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and an employee of Forsyth Memorial Hospital's Dietary Depart ment. She was a graduate of Atkins High School, Class of 1969. She is survived by her husband, Bishop Tomlin of Win ston-Salem; two children, Ebony Tate and Darryl Reich, both of Winston-Salem; a devoted aunt who reared her, Viola Low ery of Winston-Salem; her father, Sylvester (Gladys) Lowery of Winston-Salem; three sisters, Anita (Raeford) Hairston. Linda Lowery and Carolyn Lowery, all of Winston-Salem; three brothers, Sylvester (Cheryl) Lowery Jr., Keith (Mozella) Lowery, all of Winston-Salem, and Calvin (Devonia) Morri son of the United States Air Force in Germany; two uncles, James W.
