interns in the Held and will include active participation in various aspects of pro
fessional training and preparation. Other responsibilities include advising stu
dents, preparing course outlines, evaluating course offerings for possible develop
ment of new curriculum areas and serving on college committees as needSd. Min
imum requirements: Masters degree in criminal justice or closely-related area:
previous experience in law enforcement or related criminal justice field; teaching

COORDINATOR/LEAD INSTRUCTOR:
COMPENSATORY EDUCATION, CONTINUING EDUCATION DIVI
SION. The duties and responsibilities include the following; plan, organize,
develop, implement, promote, supervise, teach and evaluate compensatory educa
tion which is a program for mentally handicapped adults. Other duties within the
Continuing Education Division may be assigned. Minimum requirements: Bache
lors degree; experience teaching mentally handicapped ^Jults; experience super
vising teachers. Preferred: Masters degree in mental retardation special education,
or edcuational administration; experience in curriculum planning and implemen
tation; administrative experience in the NC Community College System. A com
pleted FTCC application and TRANSCRIPT(S) must be received by July 30,
1993. Projected date of employment: October 1, 1993.
SOCIAL SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR:
Individual will have responsibility for a broad range of courses irt social sciences.
The position will focus on teaching classes in sociology ranging from introducto
ry sociology and families in the American culture to urban sociology and victi
mology. Other responsibilities include advising students, preparing course out
lines, evaluating course offerings and serving on college cominittes as needed.
Minimum requirements: Masters degree with at least 18 graduate hours in sociol
ogy; teaching experience. Preferred experience: successful teaching experience at
the postsecondary level; experience in course planning, developing and imple
mentation; 18 graduate hours in another related Held, i.e., psychology or political
science; computer skills. A completed FTCC application and TRANSCRIPT(S)
must be received by July 30, 1993. Projected date of employment: August 30,

MAINTENANCE LABORER -
(The Housing Authority of the City of Winston-Salem is accepting applications
for a Maintenance Laborer. This is a temporary position to last for six months.

ming shrubbery, may move furniture. Must have knowledge of the methods,
materials and equipment used in custodial work; physical ability to operate

tions; ability to get along well with others. Must have valid driving license and
good driving and police records. These will be checked. Salary $7,80 per hour.
