The Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC)
of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County is accept
ing written public comments regarding the
Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Urban Area
1994-2000 Transportation Improvement Pro
gram (TIP). The draft TIP can be reviewed in
all public libraries, all town halls, the NC
Department of Transportation Division Office
(Cloverdale Ave.), and the Winston-Salem
City Hall in the Department of Transportation,
(Room 380). Comments will be accepted from
July 22, until 5:00 P.M., Monday August 23,
1993. The TAC will consider the draft TIP
along with all written comments on September
8,1993.

AFFORDABIUTY STRATEGY (CHAS)
Wlnston-Salem/Foreyth County Consortium
The Winston-Salem/Forsyth Housing Consor
tium will hold two public hearings to elicit com
munity input into the development of the 1994
1998 Five-Year Comprehensive Housing
Atfordability Strategy (CHAS) for the City of
Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
The CHAS Is a comprehensive planning tool
for the definition of lower-income and special
population housing needs, by type and scale,
and the development of priorities, strategies
and programs to address identified housing
and other supportive service needs.
Representatives from neighborhood organiza
tions, city-wide groups and any other interest
ed individuals are invited to attend both of the
hearings. Each of the two nearings win oe con
ducted as Focus Group Workshops; but each
will be targeted to address specific issues and
concerns as follows:
The HOUSING STRATEGIES workshop will
focus on the goals, strategies and programs
contained within the current five-year CHAS
with ttie intent of determining the extent of
revisions, changes, additions, deletions that
are deemed desirable for incorporation and
will be held:

The ANTI-POVERTY workshop is directed
toward development of an Anti-Poverty strate

and organizations that are involved In provid
ing services and programs have been specifi
cally invited to participate as the intent is to
build upon the foundation of existing programs
