Academy to Begin Classes Classes at the Math and Sci ence Academy of Excellence will begin Sept. 18 at Winston-Salem State University. Classes will meet every Saturday on the cam pus in the R.J. Reynolds Building from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The academy will teach four subjects: math, science, commu nications arts and computer sci ence. Classes are open to students in grades six through twelve. Tuition is $225 for the entire school year. Registration and a parent information meeting will be held in the Reynolds Building today and tomorrow from 6-8:30 p.m. Registration may also be done by calling Virginia Newell at 722- 3480 or John Sigers at 723-2728, or by coming to the Winston Mutual Building, 1225 E. Fifth St. The academy has sponsored the program for the past four years. Its purpose is to cater to students who have a love of learning and wish to enrich their regular schoolwork. The program is not remedial and is intended to challenge stu dents.
