Academy to Begin Classes
Classes at the Math and Sci
ence Academy of Excellence will
begin Sept. 18 at Winston-Salem
State University. Classes will
meet every Saturday on the cam
pus in the R.J. Reynolds Building
from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The academy will teach four
subjects: math, science, commu
nications arts and computer sci
ence. Classes are open to students
in grades six through twelve.
Tuition is $225 for the entire
school year.
Registration and a parent
information meeting will be held
in the Reynolds Building today
and tomorrow from 6-8:30 p.m.

or by coming to the Winston
Mutual Building, 1225 E. Fifth
St.
The academy has sponsored
the program for the past four
years. Its purpose is to cater to
students who have a love of
learning and wish to enrich their
regular schoolwork.
The program is not remedial
and is intended to challenge stu
dents.

lot beside the church.
1 p.m. —- The Young Adult Missionary Circle of Dreamland Park
Baptist Church is sponsoring a free clothing and free lunch give-away
to the needy. The church is located at 2340 Dunbar St.
6:30 p.m. — The Inspirational Choir of Morning Star Baptist
Church, 1400 Fitch St, will host “Joy Night,” a pre-anniversary cele
bration of the choir’s 25th aimiversary. Various choirs will participate.

4 p.m. — The Inspirational Choir of New Hope Missionary Baptist
Church, 1119 N.E. 18th St., will observe its 22nd anniversary. Various
choirs will perform:
4 p.ni. — The children of Shilohian/St. Peter’s Day Care Center
will present a musical program at the Masonic Temple on East 14th
Street The Community Club will sponsor the honoring of a king and
queen.
4 p.m. — The women of Mt. Calvary Holy Church, 1615 E. 22nd
St, are sponsoring the musical program, “When the Praises Go Up, the
Blessings Come Down.” Elder Wardlow Frazier Sr. is the host pastor.

will conclude with the combined choirs of Ambassador Cathedral,
Christ Cathedral Church of Deliverance, the Righteous Church of God
