Saving Xips
During the 1990s consumers W Learn to make proper water
have continued to be more con
cerned with the environment and
wise use of natural resources such
as water, natural gas and electricity.
Although major appliances make up
only a small percentage of the total
energy used in the home, energy
consumption can be minimized
through efficient designs, proper
buying considerations and energy
saving practices. '
In addition to baths and wash
ing dishes, washing clothes is a fact
of life. A lot of water is often con
sumed in the household in washing
clothes. Adjusting the amount of
water to the size of the load helps
save cold water, hot water andelec
tricity. Too much water can be
wasteful, and not using enough with
a load may result in a need to
re wash items.
Use proper detergent amount
level adjustments to correspond for load size, soil level and water

conditions. Recommendations on
the back of the package are a good
place to start.
? If clothes are not heavily
soiled, use a warm wash rather than
hot. For very lightly soiled or
brightly-colored items, a cold water
wash may be used. When lowering
the wash temperature, pretreating
may be necessary.

" Providing customers
with real value
is a reflection
of our values."
Anthony L. Snoddy,
President
Exemplar
Manufacturing Company
Ypsilanti, Michigan
"It starts with our name,
which has to do with setting
the standard and the model
for others to follow. In our
company that means team
work, being open to new
ideas from within and out
side, plain old hard work and
never forgetting that we're
consumers, too."
Anthony Snoddy's
philosophy typifies what
General Motors looks for in
all our suppliers... and in our
selves That Is why we have
contracted his company to
supply all QM divisions with
metal fasteners and preci
sion ground pins for our
transmissions.
At General Motors, we
are convinced that working
with quality suppliers like
Exemplar helps us offer our
customers cars and trucks
that reflect their values.
