Questions & Answers on
recovering from grief *
Questions asked during bereavement
i counseling are answered bv the editor of
Afterloss. the grief-recovery letter.
Q. I have this fear of forgetting
my loved one now that he is
gone. Laughing and socializing I
with friends seems disloyal.
A. So many people fail to get on
with life becapse of the feelings ,
| you describe. Be assured that you j
will never forget someone who !
was so much a part of your life,
i After a while the good memories
grow dearer and the not so good
ones fadeaway. Often we feel i
guilty to be alive when new op- j
| portunities and happiness come
our way. This is called "survivor's
guilt." This is a normal reaction.
And it will pass.
