RELIGION .Minister "Conference Celebrates MLK ? * Birthday Minister's Conference of Win ston-Salem celebrated the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday worship service pn Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. The celebration was held at Mace donia True Vine Pentecostal Holi ness Church, 500 Kenard Drive. The theme was "From Vio lence to Victory." The speaker was the Rev. Ronald P. Davis, Sr. of the c Saint John Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Davis is the president of the ministers confer ence. chairman of the board of Evangelism Missions and Human Concerns. Rev. Ronald P. Daniels Gospel Choir of Union Baptist Church will be cel ebrating it 5th anniversar> this Sun day/The Re\. Duight Bryant, min ister of music at Union Baptist Church, will be the gu?M speaker. The B.F. Daniels Gospel Choir sings for the 8 a.m. sen ices, which are held every Sunday morning at the church. There uere s<4ven origi nal-members of the choir along a dedicated organist. Virginia Russell. As a birthda> present to Daniels, the choir adopted the name B.F. Daniels ;Gospel Choir. The Rev. Chris Brin son. who is the assistant minister of music, works vs ith the choir also. The speaker for the anniversary service, the Re\. Dwight Bryant, is a native of Suppl>. He began ^ing his musical abilities in his home church. Cedar- Grove Baptist Church, the Young Adult Choir was selected to participate in the 1982 World's Fair in KnoxviUe. Tenn. Bryant holds degrees from South eastern Community College and Winston-Salem State University. Bryant was ordained in Feb. 1992. by the Ocean View Association. He was selected as one of The Out standing Young Men of^America in 1984 and was awarded the Out "stand ing"Xeade rsh i p Award in 1986 from Winston-Salem State University. He is married to the former Sherri Watson and they have one son. Daniel Alexander. The public is invited to cele brate the B.F.
