Aldfermen Joycelvn Johnson called the tournament "a nice little release.' She said she heard nothing but positive comments about the city's hospitality from people who came from other parts of the country. Some, however, expressed dismay over having to get used to the "North Carolina restrictions" on alcohol. The major complaint Johnson said she heard concerned spending money. "The major complaint was that they were not able to access the black community to spend their dollars." Johnson said. They wanted to spend their mone> in East Winston, but didn't know how to get there. Johnson explained. She said that was a problem that she w ould lead the effort to solve b\ next year's tournament.
