Maxine M. Brown and Jake Brown
of Winston-Salem. The bridegroom
is the son of Rita and Elder Glen
Anthony Johnson Sr. of Winston
Salem.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride selected her cousin,
Ursula Greely of Charleston, S.C.,
to serve as Matron of Honor and
selected her cousin, Karen Samuels
of Winston-Salem, to serve as Maid
of Honor. V

Brown of Winston-Salem, sister of
the bride; Joy Johnson, sister of the
bridegroom; Cassandra Wright,
Faith Johnson, Erica Sinclair,

asked Ruffin to join his staff afc spe

accomplishments during his seven
years' service to North Carolina's
chief executive were increasing the
number of black judges in the state
and expanding the number of blacks
employed in state government.
Ruffin and his wife, Avon, live
in Winston-Salem and have two
daughters. April and Benita.
