Falcons Nearly Sweep All Divisions % The Mount Tabor Falcons jSwept the Win$ton-Salem Indians in all divisions, except Pee Wee Sept. 17 as the Pop Warner Northwest Midget Football League completed its third week of play. . . The Falcons improved the 3-0 0 in the Flag Division, beating the Indians 6-0 as Marcus James' scored tlie game's only touchdown. ^"TALCONS 14, indIans^T Derrick McConnell scored twice, once on a 60-yard kickoff return to start the second half tr> lead tht* Fal cons past the Indians in Mitey-Mite action.' v " . The Indians took a 6-0 lead to the dressing room at the half before McConnqll's kickoff return gave the Falcons a 8-0 lead as Monterio Davifc added the extra point. McConnell later scored on 8 40 yard gallop to seal th? victory as the Falcons improved 1-0 with th& victory. FALCONS 26, INDIANS 0: The Falcons amassed over 400 yards of total offense and Monte Anthony scored three touchdowns as the Falcons won the Junior Pee Wee contest to improve to 2- 1 . The winners sped to a 20-0 fi it-half lead as the offensive line of Anthony Kimbrough, Andrew Sloan, Jeremy Bailey, Josh Powell, and David Summers spearheaded thr attark,-Chris Griggs scored once? and Jamaal Conley and Chris Key added extra points. The Falcon defense was led by Michael Wright, Chris Jones and Mario James. Travis Holcomb Fayb, Tremaine Kapp, Jon Adams, and Sean Elliot scored for the win- i ners and Adams added all the PATs. Derek Chisholm intercepted a pass for the winners and Johnny Barnes *and Shelton Davis were credited with fine defensive play. / TITANS~26, FALCONS 20: The Titans jumped out to an early 12 0 leadr-then weathered srFalcon" rally before finally pulling away in the latter stages of the Sept. 10 game to record the victory in Junior Pee ? Wee action. Lewisville wasted little time lighting up the scoreboard when Keith DiHon hit paydirt in the open ing minutes of the contest for a 6-0 lead. Moments later Chris Paul scored on a short run for a 12-6 advantage as the shellshocked Fal cons regrouped. Monte Anthony got 'the Faltuns back in the game with a 60-yard touchdown scamper as the half ended with the Titans on top 12-6. 1; Anthoay gave the Falcons their first lead with a 40-yard touchdown jaunt to open the second half and ariflffri the extra point for a 13 12 advantage. The Titans regained the lead at 20-13 before an interception returp by Dillon for a touchdown pushed the margin to 26-13. The Falcons staged a last-gasp rally when quarterback Chffs Key tound~ Anthony on a 40-yard scoring pass with lessjthan a minute to play and Antwan Steele added the PAT f&r the final margin. FALCONS 21, TITANS 0: The Falcons used offensive depth and a^ smothering defense to shut out the Titans in Junior Midget action Sept. 10. Three players scored for Mount T;:bor, starting with Tremaine Kapp's 12-yard run. Jon Adams added the extra point. The winner's second touchdown was set up by a pass from quarterback Steve Hair ston to Travis Holcomb-Faye,;cul minating in Holcomb-Faye's first down scamper for the touchdown. Adams' second PAT of the contest gave the Falcons a 14-0 haJftime lead.
