St. Stephen's Holds Annual Pageant St. Stephen's held its 5tb i Annual King and Queen Pageant ? on August 20. The pageant was a big success and was enjoyed by all who attended i Mildred Williams and Audrey Farrow narrated the pageant as the participants marched down the aisle to the tune of 44 March Royal" which was written and composed by William McGillt (the organist for the affair). The Rev. and Mrs. J. R. Samuels crowned the king and queen, after which Leon Farrow, Jr. performed a a rendition of 44We Crown Thee," a song that was written and composed by the . late Raymond L. Couthen, Jr. ' Roosevelt Hopkins* son of the late Susanna 'Hopkins, was crowed king. 'Randolph Mitchell, son of Bobby and Curlean Mitchell, Was first run ner up and James Parms, hus Hauser Honored At Anniversary The Ministerial Anniversary of Elder George Hauser, Jr. will be held at Revelations of Faith Church, located at 3710 Maver- < ick Street (in the "Georgetown" ; area of Old Town), Winston > Salem, N.C. On September 21, Bishop T. ? R. Rice of Mercy Seat Holiness ; Church will be the speaker. Ser : vice will begin at 7:00k p.m. On ; September 22, the Rev. Samuel . Cornelius of New Jerusalem Bap tist Church will be the speaker. Service will be begin at 7:00 p.m. On September 24, Pastor Essie McCollough of New Directions Movement Cathedral will be the speaker. Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. Elder George Hauser (noted for singing at revivals, etc.) has been the supply Pastor every Sunday morning at Sunrise Tow ers, ministering to those that can not otherwise go out for service. Goler Sponsors Conference on Teen Pregnancy Teen pregnancy is a major health problem in America today. It is associated with the high infant mortality rate, the rate of abortions and social and economic problems related to childrearing. On October 2, 3, and 4, Goler Memorial A.M.E. Zion church will conduct a con ference entitled, "The Church Divine Law and Teen Pregnan cy." Using Biblical principles, conference participants will focus upon preventing teen preg nancy, the physiological and psy chosocial impact of teen preg nancy, and educational and moral support for teen parents. These sessions will form a Christ-centered format for addressing the problem of teen pregnancy in our community. Parents of teens, male and female teenagers are invited to attend. Conference participants will include physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers,, educators, ministers, law enforcement officers, and others. The conference will be held between 6-8 p.m. each eveningat 630 N. Patterson Avenue. The Rev. Dr. Seth O. Lartey is Pastor. Sim mons - queen; Stephanie Smith - first runner up; Myriah Danielle Lane * second runner up. Ages 7 - 9; Kedrick Kenard Easter - . king; Phillip J. West - first run ner up; Kevin Alexander Oakes - second runner up; Mylika DeJournette Lane - queen; Natausha La Von Smallwood - first runner up. Ages 10 - 12; Terrell Beal - king; Kesha Lato ria Hawkins - queen; Ages 13 - 20; Tamika Renee McMoore - queen; Jasmine Lene Barber - First Runner Up. Others Running: Benita A.
