? Sunrise Towers Residents Get New Pastor ? Audrey Lowery, Community Service Clerk at the Sunrise Towers, observed that there were many residents homebound with i desire to attend church ser vices. I Lawcry began a search for a full-time minister on Sunday pomings at 1 1 a.m. for one hour to give the Sunrise Towers resi dents a spiritual uplift. ? Pastor Sarah Hauser (Low Iry's cousin) felt that Elder George Hauser, Jr., who loves to_ Sing the "old timey" hymns and was already well known by most of the people at Sunrise Towers, would be perfect for the task. Thus, the "Church at Sunrise." was bom on Sunday, September 1990. He was welcomed with Spened arms by Sister Virgie Thompson (now deceased), Pres ident and Sister Lillie Nicholson, Vice President at the Tuesday night Prayer Service. Elder Hauser has contributed greatly to the growth of these services. Lawery later requested an evening service. Every third Sunday services are held twice at 1 1 a.m. and at 3 p.m. Prayer ser vices are held each Tuesday night. All services are open to the public. ^ Elder George Hauser, Jr. was born and reared in the Piney Grove area. His parents are Marie Almeeta Black Brown and the late George Hauser, Sr He has a brother, Ralph Hauser, and a sister, Johnnie M. Glenn. He attended Kimberly Park School. He was married to the late Mildred Nelson Hauser and from that union was born three sons, Raymond Jones, Gregory Hauser, and George Hauser III, and two daughters, Deborah Odom and Janice Faust. Elder George Hauser, Jr. preached his initial sermon on November 8, 1967 at Kimberly Park Holiness Church, where he was a member for over 35 years. He was employed at Thomasville Furniture Company for over 35 years. Elder Hauser is presently retired. He was united in marriage with Sarah C Hauser on January 3, 1986. They reside in Win ston-Salem. The Ministerial Anniversary of Elder George Hauser, Jr. will be held on September 21 and 33 at 7 p.m., nightly. Services will be held at Revelations of Faith Church. Bishop T. R. Rice of Mercy Seat Holiness Church will be the guest speaker on Thursday, the Rev. Samuel Cornelius, of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker on Friday. Union Bethel A.M.E. Church to Celebrate 100th The Union Bethel A.M.E. Church will celebrate their 100th Anniversary with services being held on September 22-24. Youth Service will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. A Banquet will be held on Saturday from 6:30 - 10:30 p.m. at the Adams Mark Hotel, (tick ets only) The Rev.
