Deaths and Funerals ? Russell's Funeral Home 822 Carl Russell Ave. 722-3459 lurray Theodore Louis Murray of 1016 Moravia Street died on October at the Forsyth Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 4, 1921 in Chester County, S.C. to the ^te William Franklin Murray and the late Annie Bell Simms. At an irly age, the family relocated to Rock Hill, S.C. where Murray >mpleted his education. He resided in Winston-Salem for 50 years. was a retired employee for the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company Hih over 35 years of service. Murray was of the Baptist Faith an d 'as a veteran of the United States Army having served in World far 11. He is survived by his wife, Odessa Lowery Murray of the home; >ur sons, William Lowery of Bordentown, N.J., Donald Lowery of [untsville, Ala., Dr. George Lowery of Detroit, Mich., and James )wery of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Theodora Taylor of Win lon-Salem, and Jeanette Murray of Jamaica, N.Y.; a host of foster tildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer lurray and Luther Murray both of Harrisburg, Pa.; five sisters, ?helma Pickett, Annie Eves, Edna Patterson all of Rock Hill, S.C., ^illie Mae Weldon of Harrisburg, Pa. and Sadie Gladden of Pitts irg, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Willie Lowery of Winston-Salem; two special loving friends, Mary Benjamin and Rossevclt Hopkins both of Winston-Salem; a host of nieces, nephews, other friends and admirers. Funeral services were held on October 21 from t he Chapel of the Russell Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight A. Bryant officiat ing. Burial followed at the Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Russell Funeral Directors were in charge of the arrangements. Keaton William Jerry Keaton, Jr. of Detroit died on October 13. He was born on July 20, 1956 in Winston-Salem to William Jerry Keaton, Sr. and the late Queen Ester Keaton. he attended the local public schools of Forsyth County, he was employed by the Chrysler Corporation of Detroit.. He recently gave his life to Christ and became affiliated with the Pine Grove Baptist Church as a Dea con in training. He is survived by his father, William J. Keaton, Sr. of Detroit; four sons, Deray Hickman, Willie Damon, William Jerry Keaton, III and Sadarius Orr, all of Winston-Salem; three daughters, Latisha Blackwell of Detroit, Nakeeba Orr and Shamel Orr of Winston Salem; a grandmother, Anna Scales of Winston-Salem; five broth ers, Michael Keaton of Marion, N.C., Minister Donald Richard, Dedrick and Preston of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Tonie White head of Detroit, and Christal Swain of Winston-Salem; one grand child, Ashley West of Detroit; a devoted friend, Darlene King of Detroit; four uncles; six aunts and a host of other relatives and friends. Garris Joseph Nelson Garris of 844 North Jackson Ave. died on Octo ber 20 at the Winston-Salem Convalescent Center. He was born on March 15, 1900 in Summerton, S.C. to the late Parris and Emmaline Garris. He moved to Winston-Salem during his younger life and had lived here for over 75 years. He was a member of the Miracle Temple Holines Church in High Point, belonged to the Community Prayer Band and was the oldest deacon in the Holiness Church of God. He was a retired employee of the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, Factory #12 with over 34 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Mae Garris; three sons, Joseph Nelson, Jr. of High Point, Samuel Garris and Edlee Garris both of Winston-Salem; four daughters, Mary Lee Compton, Rosa L. Johnson, Josephine Samuel and Essie M. Williams all of Win ston-Salem; one step-daughter, June Anderson of Wilmington, De.; 3 sisters, Rena Mack, Martha Higgins and Mary Green, all of Sum merton, S.C.; one brother, Parris Garris of Baltimore, Md.; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on October 24 from the Kimberly Holiness Church with the Ruling Elder Wardlow Frazier, Sr., offici ating. Burial followed at the Evergreen Cemetery.
