? - u i m (Left to right) Cheryl Belo and Pamela Robinson Alpha Mu Sigma Chapter to Salute Two New Members Alpha Mu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority recently inducted two new mem bers during a ceremony at the home of Soror Aurelia McFad den. Newest members are Cheryl Belo and Pamela Robinson. Cheryl Belo is a School Counselor with the Winston Salem/Forsyth County School System. Married with two chil dren Jasen, age 13 and Amanda age 10, the sorority member received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bennett College, and the Master of Arts Degree from Western Michigan Univer sity. Pamela Robinson is a Win ston-Salem State University Medical Technology Graduate. The Alpha Mu Sigma soror is employed at National Health Laboratories as an Acessioner. Winston-Salem Resident Receives N.C. Nurse of the Year Award Carol Pridgen Henry was among several nurses across the state winning Nurse of the Year Awards dUjring the North Car olina Nurses Association's Annual Convention held in Char lotte October 18 through 20. Henry received the Nurse Educa tor of the Year Award. The Nurse educator is a product of the Columbus County Public School System graduating from Mt. Olive High School. She received her BSN from Win ston-Salem State University and the MSN from the Medical Col lege of Georgia. The award winner is employed as a Nursing Instructor at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where she has been since 1991. In addition to teaching Medical Surgical and Fundamentals of Nursing, she serves on several committees and projects. Among her activities are faculty advisor to Dudley Senior High School of Greensboro. She also has repre sented the School of Nursing for the past four years as one of the faculty representatives to the Joint Clinical Resource Planning Committee which consist of schools of nursing and clinical facilities covering a five-county area. The Faculty member serves on the Academic Resources Committee and Chairs the Admissions and Progression Committee. One of the Instructor's area of expertise is care of the elderly. As an example of her innovative strategies, her students developed a video integrating the concepts and issues of friendships, loss and loneliness related to the elderly. She has also conducted qualitative and quantitative research projects related to aging black females. Henry is a mem ber of District 8 of the N.C. Nurses Association serving on the membership committee. She is also'a member of Mu Tau Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society chairing the nominating committee. The Nurse Educator is a member of the Board of Directors for the Greensboro Branch of Compre hensive Home Health Care, Inc.
