Tie Rev. Philemon Samuels and his wife, Gloria, have been with Good will Baptist Church seven years. Goodwill Baptist to celebrate t * seventh pastoral anniversary - Goodwill Baptist Church will celebrate the seventh anniversary of their pastor, the Rev. Philemon A. Samuels, Sunday, Feb. 9, at 4 p.m. The speaker for the occasion will be the Rev. Sheldon McCarter, pas tor of Cleveland Avenue Christ ian Church of Winston-Salem. \ Samuels has been in the nunistry for more than 20 years. He is the son of the late Rev. W.E. Samuels, who served as pastor of Mars Hill Baptist Church. He is the brother of the Rev. J.R. Samuels, the pastor of St Stephen's Baptist Church. I Samuels attended Winston S&lem State University, Shaw Uhiversity, and the Universtiy ot North Carolina at Chapel HJ11. He is currently a senior at Hjgh Point University. Samuels hgs served as a member of the bQard of directors of the Cru saders for Christ Ministry Team, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Saint Matthews Counseling Center, and has served as vice president of the Interdenominational Youth for Christ Fellowship of WSSU. Samuels has been married for 21 years to the former Gloria Monk. They have two children and one grandson. His wife, Gloria, is a well-known evange list throughout the country and is also very active at the Church. Samuels started a Wednes day night prayer meeting, a chil dren's Bible study, women's and men's ministries, a youth and young adult ministry, church training classes, a tape ministry, a public relations ministry, a greeter's ministry, a praise team and ministry, and a youth choir. The church is currently purchas ing 25 acres of land joining its present location with a vision to build a new church, a gym, a Bible college, a counseling/rehab center and educational building, a preschool, a day care for youth and senior citizens and a fellow ship facility. Goodwill Baptist is cur rently developing the following ministries: Prayer Warriors Min istry, Storehouse Ministry, and Prison Ministry. The church is located off Highway 150 West on Goodwill Road in Arcadia, N.C. The public is invited.
