The topic "Who Shall Care for Us" was chosen by the Social Action Mission chair. Marion B. Simpson, and her team. They were sponsored by the Visionaries, another team of the United Methodist Women, chaired by Cleester Hickerson. Guest panelists included the following people: ? Elleton (Mickey) McCullough is a clinician man ager for Forsyth Hospital. McCullough holds a bachelor's degree and a master's in nursing from Winston-Salem State University. ? Attorney Denise Hartsfield is a district attorney for Forsyth County. She received her bache lor's degree in English from Spelman College, a master's from North Carolina A&T State University and her juris doctor ate from Wake Forest University. She is a part-time member of the faculty at the law school there. ? The Rev. Juanita B. Tatum is the assistant pastor at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Pinnacle. She is retired as assis tant principal of Walkertown Middle School. Currently she is enrolled in the Master of Divinity School at Virginia Union School of Theology. She is also a substitute chaplain at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. The symposium began at 4 p.m. in the fellowship hall of St. Paul United Methodist Church. A devotional meditation was conducted by Gwen H. Ashley, spiritual growth coordinator. Announcements were made by Bettye Woodbom. The three groups, led by the three panelists, discussed the movement toward "managed care." The trend is toward more health care facilities becoming community based. Hartsfield advised the group to refrain from its fear of the criminal justice system Women were advised to seek the advise of a lawyer when facing the system before a judge Woman are being abused, she said.
