She was a devoted homemaker. * i She is survived by her husband, Earl Davis of the home; two daughters, Davida Valentine of Tampa, Florida and Syehilver Davis of Winston 5^em, NC; one son, Darren (Yolanda) Wealts of Winston-Salem, NC; twee grandchildren; her parents, Willie and Martha Weaks of Winston jPrm, NC; two Brothers, Dean Weaks and Jerry Weaks both of Winston Sulem, NC; a dear friend, Mason Roberts; other relatives and special Funeral services were held on April 9 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Russell Funeral Home with the Rev. She was born on December 3, 1928 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late John and Mary Hunter Johnson. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Winston-Salem State l^niversity. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Flora Cameron and her son, Vernon Johnson. A hie She is survived by four sons, Wilson (Mercina) Johnson, Jacobowsky fehnson, Walter (Dorcas) Johnson and Bernard (Elena) Johnson all of Winston-Salem, NC; ten grandchildren, Nacina, Anthony, Jacqueline, 'Walter; Jerod, Andrea, Christopher; Antuan, Jacque and Verneshia; two great-granddaughters, Vernishia and Tajah; one great-grandson, Pride Jr.; one sister; Eleanor Morris and one brother; John Johnson both of Detroit, MI; a lifelong friend, Kenneth Davis of Winston-Salem, NC; a host of other relatives and special friends. Funeral services were held April 11 at 11:00 a.m. from Mars Hill Bap tist Church with the Rev. K. E. Lilly officiating. Burial followed at Ever green Cemetery. NEAL Mr. Harry Vincent Neal, 1317 Thurmond Street, Winston-Salem, NC, died April 12,1998 at Forsyth Medical Center. ."J He was a native of Rockingham County, NC and had resided in Win ston-Salem, NC since 1960. He was a member of Saint Stephen Baptist Church where he served with the Lott- Carey Missionary Group and the Men's Sunday School Class #1. He was an employee of Eckerd Drug Company where he retired as an assistant manager. Mr. Neal was a veter an of the United States Army, having served in World War II. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ida Mae Neal of the home; two daughters, Francine X Neal of the home, Natalie S. Neal of Winston Salem, NC; one son, Vincent M. TURNIPSEED 7L.KM6 Mr. Hilton Turnipseed, 830 W. 14th Street, Apt. F, Winston-Salem, NC, died April 8 at Oaks at Forsyth. He was born April 18, 1905 in Columbia, SC. He came to Winston Salem at a very young age. After many years of employment, Mr. Turnipseed retired from Piedmont Leaf and Tobacco Company. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Mrs, Anna C. Turnipseed, of the city; one daughter Priscilla (Robert) Wiggins; one granddaughter, Veronica Moore; two great-granddaughters, Tekele and Maia Moore all of the city; three sisters-in-law, Mable C. Harvey; Viola (Willie) Johnson, Sr. of the city, Calen (Paul) Drye of Council, NC; one brother-in-law, Matthew Corbett of Baltimore, MD; a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in Stokes County on June 19, 1934, to Paul Thomas Floyd and the late Viola Floyd and the late stepmother Mrs, Mary Ella Floyd. She was married to the late Thomas Arthur Kelly. She spent her life being a loving mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her father, Mr. Paul Floyd of Greensboro, NC; one daughter; Paula Gregory; three sons, Larry Floyd, David Kelly, Christo pher Robinson; one brother, Mr. Edward Floyd of Detroit, MI; three sis ters, Mrs Sheila Trader of Greensboro, NC; Mrs. Mary Gibson of Orange, NJ and Mrs. Mary Austin of. Cambria Heights, NY; four grand children, Carlos Gregory, Darryle (Pooh) Gregory II, Keisha Gregory, and Tammy Robinson; two great-grandchildren, Lil* Carlos and Third, all of the city; one special nephew, Mark Anthony Gilbert; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Hooper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. HARRIS Mrs. Sallie McCullough Harris, formerly of 117 Cherryview Lane, Winston-Salem, NC, died April 6 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was born September 8,1895, in Winnsboro, SC to the late Jim and Minnie McCullough. She was a resident of North Carolina most of her life She was a retired homemaker and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church before relocating to Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harris and four daughters. Dunleith Avenue, died April 6 at NC Baptist Hospital. He was born February 23,1913, to the late Lee and Daisy Cousar and was a resident of Winston-Salem for 63 years He was a lawn maintenance worker and worked at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. He was united in mar ' riage to Addie Hunter who preceded him in death along with a grandson, Lee J. Cousar. Surviving relatives to cherish his memory are one son Lee J. Cousar, Jr.; one daughter, Andrea Robinson; one son-in-law, William G. Robinson of Winston-Salem; Granddaughters Willa Robinson, Yvonne and Vickie Cousar all of Winston-Salem; Michael, Anthony, Marcus and Jonathan Cousar of GA; 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is presently employed as an industry education coordinator at West Forsyth High School, in Clemmons. He has been the pastor of Union Chapel Baptist Church for 13 years. He is married to Lonnie Hamilton Robinson, and they have two daughters, Chanda Marie and Carla Faye.. Trustee James Grace, III will preside over the program. Claire Robin son, President of Inno Tech Systems & Training, will give the history of the Trustees' Spouses. Donald Buie, attorney, will introduce Rev. Ron nie Robinson.
