The Duti ful Dozen began in the summer of 1979 at the home of Alberta Hayes of Rosemary Drive in Winston-Salem. After the loss of her husband in November 1978, Mrs. Hayes was lonely. She called a group of women together and from this meeting formed a group of 12 dedicated Christian women (The Dutiful Dozen). Hayes was elected pres ident. Over the years, several women have served as president: Ollie Jenkins, Mable Minter, Juanita Archie and Phyllis Faye. The club's motto is "to strive, seek, serve." The club's purpose is "sharing love." The Dutiful Do/en has assisted private families and groups such as Salvation Army, Samaritan Kitchen and Crisis Control. One time the group kept a food bank at the home of Beatrice Spencer. This food bank assisted burn-out families. These women count every opportunity to help someone a blessing, remembering to make love their aim and always to do unto others as we would have done unto us. Dutiful Dozen is happy to say, >?Thank you, Lord." He's brought us a mighty long way. The club still has seven of the original members. Two passed on to be with the Lord: Lillian Redmon and Beu lah Hawkins. The Dutiful Dozen will cele brate its anniversary in fellow ship ^ith Holy Trinity Full Gospel Baptist Church. The Rev.
