National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day is May 18, 2001 An HIV vaccine represents the world's best hope of ending the AIDS epidemic. > Dear HIV Vaccine Study Volunteers, ) Over the past 13 years, thousands of you have chosen to volunteer in studies to deveiop HIV vaccines. All of you deserve the world's recognition and gratitude. Without your selfless decision to participate there would be no studies. Each of you is making a significant contribution to your community and to the world. This year we are celebrating the fourth annual National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day. On this day, the National HIV Vaccine Communications Steering Group, the HIV Vaccine Trials Network and the U 3 National Institutes of Health, do hereby jointly acknowledge your vaiiant efforts in the search for a safe and effective vaccine to prevent HIV/AIDS.
