Flemming, Bryan lead Indian Pee Wees to homecoming victory over Titans Pop Warner Roundup SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Fredrick Flemming and Samario Bryan got the Win ston-Salem Tiny Indians off to a fast start in a 26-6 homecom ing victory over the Lewisville Titans Saturday at Ray Agnew Field. Flemming scored on a 23 yard touchdown run and then ran in the extra point to boost the Indians to a 7-0 first quar ter lead. Kevin Conrad added a touchdown in the second quar ter and Bryan passed for a touchdown to lift the Indians to . a 20-0 lead at the half. ? The Indians put the game away in the fourth quarter on Bryan's touchdown run. which gave them their final margin. , Flemming. Calvin Gamble and Javon Ellis led the way for the Indians' defense. The Indi ans improved to 4-0 with the victory. Indians' Mitey Mites defeat Lewisville 6-0 Eric Wardlow scored a fourth-quarter touchdown with less than a minute left in the game to lift the Tiny Indians' Mitey Mites to victory over the Lewisville Titans. Neither team was able to get on the scoreboard until Wardlow picked off a Lewisville throw and scampered into the end zone. Carlos Gregory, Shaquan Wallace and Brandon Anthony provided key offensive plays for the Indians, but they were not able to reach the Titans' end zone. However, the defense - led by Marthaniel Grinton. Gregory McClinton. Steven Witherspoon, Phillip Crawford. Antonio Elder and Jimon Crawford - came up with big plays throughout the game to prevent Lewisville from scoring. The Indians improved to 4-0 with the win. Indians' Flag team holds on for nin over Titans Kenneth Rocker scored two touchdowns and added an extra point to lift the Winston-Salem Tiny Indians' Flags to a 19-14 victory over Lewisville Armahn Bryan got the Indians' first touchdown and Rocker added the extra point before tallying the next two Indian scores. The Indians came through with a strong overall defensive performance to secure the vic tory. Falcons Sr. Midgets roll to 26-0 win over Grayhounds Bryant George passed for two touchdowns and the Win ston-Salem Falcons Sr. Midgets rolled to victory over the Winston-Salem Gray hounds Saturday at Griffith School. Angelo Carthern scored on a 15-yard run to get the Fal cons on the scorg?>oard in the first quarter. George then hooked up with Demont Sim mons on a 32-yard pass play for the Falcons' second touch down. Alonzo Winfield added the next score on a 32-yard run. and Warren Shannon caught a 47-yard toss from George for the final touchdown. Rolando Martinez tallied two conver sion runs for the Falcons, who improved to 3-1. "Overall my kids sel their minds on the game and played their hearts out and came through with a big win," said Falcons coach Albert Wright. "The defense played an out standing game with few mis takes and set the tempo for the game. "My quarterback, Bryant George, helped the offense move the ball very well." George finished the game 14-of-17 for 187 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 47 yards. Wright said his defense keeps improving each week. Marcus Brown led the way defensively with 13 tackles and four assists. "He set the tone on defense all day," Wright said. "He - along with Alonzo Winfield. Warren Shannon. Daiton Ful ton, Cedric Amos, Carlos Carter, Ra'Kim Galloway, Emmanuel Crowell and Bran don Buie - played very well." Winfield had seven tackles and Shannon added six to back Brown on defense for the Fal cons. "We looked a lot better( today, and we are now getting stronger every game," Wright said. "Now we are getting ready for the Lewisville Titans next week in Clemmons. "We are expecting a good, hard game. My coaches will have the kids ready for the next game." Falcons Pee Wees take 27-7 win over Grayhounds Jashuan Gary scored two touchdowns and the Winston Salem Falcons' Pee Wees cap tured a surprisingly easy victo ry Gary scored the first touch -down to get the Falcons* offense untr'acked after the Grayhounds took an early 7-0 lead. Timothy Revel scored the Falcons' next touchdown. Revel also had a 40-yard punt return, which he carried to the Grayhounds' 9-yard line to set up another score. Lamar Edwards added the Falcons' fit*1 touchdown. Coach Wayne Rousseau said the play of Gary, Edmonds and Revel was the key to the game. Rousseau also praised the play of his defense, which was led by Lamont Arrington. The Falcons' defense held the Grayhounds scoreless for three quarters after allowing a touch down on the first play from scrimmage. "Overall the entire Falcon team contributed to this big conference victory," Rousseau said. "Timothy Revel's fourth quarter fumble recovery sealed the win and corralled the boys (Grayhounds) back to the pound."
