One-on-One from page B2 something? Do you get that all-star game type of feeling about your team? Cameron: Not really. I think we have a good group of basketball players, and every one knows their position. We don't have a group of super stars, where everyone thinks they have to score 30 or 40 points. We have a group qf people who are willing to work together and play as a team. Anthony: OK. You've already decided where you're going to play next season. Go ahead and tell the world. Cameron: (Smiles.) I'm going to Wake Forest. Anthony: That's gotta be good for the Deacon fans. Cameron: (Giggles.) 1 hope so. Anthony: What made you decide to go to Wake? Was it the coaching staff, the players, the city? What was it? Cameron: It's in the ACC. That's one of the top leagues in the nation, and it's close to home. And they have a good academic program as well as a good basketball program. So my parents and I thought it would he a good situation to go to a college that was close to home. Anthony: What's Cameron like to do when he's not play ing basketball? Cameron: (Smiles.) Noth ing. I'm real low key. I usually just hang out with friends and work on my jumper. Anthony: (Smiles.) So you're telling me that you don't get on the PlayStation2? Cameron: (Laughs.) A lil' bit. but I'm not the best. Anthony: What's your per sonal life like up in Raleigh? Cameron: Well, I got a lady, and she treats me fine. I got a lot of friends and we'll go to the movies or something. That's about it. Anthony: Which NBA player do you model your game after? Cameron: Uh, Tracy McGrady and Kobe (Bryant). They kind of play alike. We're kind of the same size, so I see the things they do and try to add them to my game. Anthony: Speaking of Kobe, what do you think about this Kobe news? Cameron: I just think that he got himself into a situation that he shouldn't have gotten into, but I think it will all work out. though. I think everything is gonna be OK. 1 believe him. I don't think that he did any thing to that girl. I think she just wants some money. This is no different than a lot of other situations. v Anthony: What about LeBron James? Do you think he (will) live up to all the hype? Cameron: Hopefully. I'm happy for LeBron James. 1 think he's a great player. If he doesn't do too good this year, he'll break out next year. I think he's gonna hit that rook ie wall. I think he's gonna hit that pretty bad. but other than that, he'll be fine. Anthony: OK. Now back to basketball. (Pause.) What's the best part about being on this team? Cameron: I'm happy to be coached by coach (Andrd) Gould and coach (Lecardo) Means. I'm happy to be play ing with Chris Gaynor and Ricky Hickman. I like the whole team. We're gonna win it. Anthony: (Smiles.) Why are you so confident, man? Cameron: (Smiles.) 1 mean, they won it last year, and we've only lost one game all summer. And that was because we were tired. We're a pretty good team. It's gonna take a lot to beat us. Anthony: What's the best type of shoes to wear while you're out balling. What should the little kids be beg gin' their parents for? Cameron: That's, a hard question. (Smiles.) This is my first team that's affiliated with Nike. So, I don't know. (Pause.) I'd have to go with some Adidas, honestly. I gotta go with some T-Macs or some thing. a Anthony: What's your favorite sports moment? Cameron: 1 know Eric (Williams) is going to hate me for this, but (I) dunked on him when I was a sophomore. Anthony: Which Eric are you talking about? Cameron: You know, Eric at Wake Forest. Anthony: Oh. (Both laugh.) You dunked on him? Cameron: Yeah, I was a sophomore and he was a sen ior. We heal his team pretty bad. Anthony: OK, let's con clude with free association. Cameron: OK. Anthony: "Bad Boys II." Cameron: Good movie. Anthony: J-Lo (Jennder Lopez) Q Cameron: Fine. She's fine. Anthony: Best bailer in North Carolina. Cameron: Cameron Stan ley. Anthony: Best college in the nation. Cameron: Wake Forest. Anthony: Favorite food. Cameron: Pork chops. Anthony: 2003 AAU national champs. Cameron: (Smiles.) Kappa Magic. No doubt. Anthony: One final ques tion. What are you gonna lis ten to before you hit the floor in Orlando? Cameron: (Smiles.) Jay-Z. Anthony: All right. I guess a little Jigga won't hurt. Good luck. dawg. Cameron: Thanks. wssu from page B1 (22). "Let's make it happen," Wiggins said. "I am very excited about getting the opportunity to join this coaching staff, and I feel that I can definitely bring something to this already bountiful table. 1 bring experience, a passion for the game, and tough love. 1 am ready for the 2003 season." Blount added: "This is definitely a big plus for us. He (Wiggins) brings experience and savvy to the table, and is a class individual.
