Todd Lewis Lewis joins Golf Channel Former WXll reporter is also a graduate of UNC-Greensboro SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE GOLF CHANNEL recent ly announced (he addition of Todd Lewis to its on-air team. Lewis will serve as a host and reporter for Golf Central, the network's mar quee nightly news program, and will contribute to the net work's news reporting team at PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour events, as assigned, beginning in 2008. An avid golfer with a sin gle-digit handicap, Lewis brings more than 15 years of sports broadcasting and jour nalism experience to GOLF CHANNEL. Lewis was an eight-year member of the on air team at CBS affiliate WKMG in Orlando, most recently as sports director. Lewis also worked for Orlando-based Sun Sports cable television network, serving as a reporter for the Florida Gators football pre and post game shows and host for the Summertime Golf Show, a weekly 30-minute golf travel show. A graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro, Lewis' broad casting career began in 1991 in Winston-Salem, N.C. as a sports reporter for independ ent WXII. He then joined NBC affiliate WECT in Wilmington, N.C., as a sports anchor and reporter, produc ing and anchoring the week end sportscasts, where he received Associated Press Best Sports Feature award in 1995. His next career move took him to Spokane. Wash., at ABC affiliate KXLY as weekend sports anchor. Lewis returned to his home state of North Carolina in 1998 as weekend sports anchor for CBS affiliate WRAL in Raleigh, before moving to Orlando and WKMG in 1999.
