Pastor Scovens' authentic

membership of Galilee to
transform lives and accept the
awesome responsibility of tak
ing the ministry to a new level.
He anticipates doing greater
works for the Kingdom of
God, and envisions a ministry
that will empower God's peo
ple spiritually, educatiohally,
emotionally, culturally, and
economically. He has chal
lenged Galilee to strive for
excellence in ministry.
Under the leadership of
Dr. Scovens, Galilee is experi
encing an era of restructuring,
rejuvenation and restoration.

Dionn Owen and The Renaissance prepare to celebrate
SPECIAL TO. THE CHRONICLE
Dionn Owen and The
Renaissance will celebrate their
Seventh Music Ministry
Anniversary on Saturday, April 12
at 6 p.m.
This anniversary is special to them
because they will debut their sopho
more project entitled "Psalms From
the Heart." According to Dionn,
the songs on the CD are in direct
communication to God. In particu
lar "In His Hands" is telling God
that everything that I go through,
every situation that I am faced ^ith,
it is all in your hands! Another
notable song on the CD is "Well
Done." So many believers pnly
think about hearing the Lord say
well done after you have transi
tioned from time into eternity.
There are things that we do daily
that are pleasing to the Lord, and
while we are here on Earth, we need
to hear the Lord say, "Well Done,
God is pleased with ya"!
The Renaissance has traveled
extensively over the past seven
Dionn Owen and The Renaissance
years along the East coast. During
their travels they have appeared
with such notable local gospel
artists, as Peace of Mind, The
Ebony Chorale, Mischel Goldsmith
and Sold Out as well as national
ministries such as Yolanda Adams,
Bishop Dreyfus Smith and the
J
Wings of Faith, The Wilmington
Chester Mass Choir, Troy Sneed,
Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of
Music and Trinity 5:7. The choir
has ministered on Gospel cruises,
the North Carolina General Baptist
Convention, North Carolina Baptist
State Convention as well as the
Triad Praise Fcst.
Dionn Owen, the director and
founder of the choir, is excited
about this project because he says it
proves that with God, all things are
possible. He is a much sought out
choir director as well as choir clini
cian.
When conducting choir work
shops, more emphasis is placed on
singing techniques, proper breath
ing, and proper appearance for min
istry.
Producer for this project is
Logan Reynolds whose credits
include Denitra Champ, Smokey
Norful and most recently the West
Angeles COGIC latest release "No
Limit." Engineer for the project is
George Hauser who has worked
with notable gospel artists such as
Shirley Ceaser and John P. Key.
The location for this event will
be New Direction Movement
Cathedral located at 3300 Overdale
Rd.
